Experience Report: fairytale surprises en masse
When we set off to walk the Tirol's beautiful long-distance route, the "Adlerweg", in order to collect medical data on the gastrocnemius muscle that is particularly pronounced among Tiroleans - we suddenly and unexplicably found ourselves in a place not shown on any map of the Tirol.
When we suddenly heard a sharp cry for help, we at once set off to follow the desperate pleas and came to a clearing and an odd scene: a frighteningly large example of the species Canis lupus seemed to be threatening a young girl who strikingly resembled the mythological figure of Red Riding Hood. To be precise, the wolf seemed to be after the young lady's smart walking boots. Luckily, a voice "from up above" interceded. In case this was a spiritual experience, we'd have to say that God sounds like - our grandmother!
The soothingly kind voice of an elderly lady told us about the wolf's real form, about the shoe fetishism it was originally cursed with and about how to mitigate the situation with a competent kiss. We followed the advice of the invisible, omnipresent grandma and finally brought to light from beneath the wolf's pelt a surprisingly handsome representative of the species "prince". The subsequent picnic was no less enchanting than the rest of that unique day.
Findings: ...and they lived happily ever after.
This fairytale trip opened our eyes to many "magical" things in our highly complex and frequently too modern world, showing once again that the completely unexpected can still occur in the Tirol. Anyone walking around in the woods of our fascinating land can still expect enchanting surprises.
